The Slovak Green Building Council (SKGBC) is the main ambassador of sustainable construction in Slovakia. The non-profit civic association was founded in November 2010 and is committed to making economically, ecologically and aesthetically designed buildings with a healthy indoor environment, in which energy and other resources are not wasted, the standard in Slovakia. The council's goal is to ensure that newly constructed and renovated buildings are built according to sustainable standards, thereby reducing energy consumption, eliminating the impact of buildings on the environment and minimizing the carbon footprint.
